St. Lawrence Wind Project

The Town of St. Lawrence boasts an innovative and progressive opportunity to both support our community and  environmental stability for the planet.  Residents of Newfoundland and Labrador will benefit from clean electricity at competitive prices, thanks to a Government of Canada investment in the province’s first commercial wind farm.

The nine turbines at the St. Lawrence Wind Power Project have a total capacity of 27 megawatts, enough to meet the electricity demands of about 7,000 homes. The project is located just outside St. Lawrence and was since acquired by Elemental Energy in 2020.
